987336- 梁世瓏 流動

‘Flowing or mobile’ reverse to the meaning itself as a dynamic condition, not static. As a dynamic element, there must be at least a change in 2 different conditions, and through my analysis, I found something interesting like in the middle of the changing process and transformation, the change present in the process, in fact affect the changes of the space inside it. The different between 2 conditions, the condition at the very beginning and the condition at the very end of the process finally initiates the space changes.
The case that I chose is the mobility in Tunghai Villa or Tunghai Street Market (東海別墅/ 東海夜市). What makes it become so mobile? In my opinion, the flowing in Tunghai Street Market is rather unique. The center of the stream or the flow concentrated on the exit gates from Tunghai to the Tunghai Villa. It is obviously because partly of the stream in it are students from Tunghai university, and the gates are taking role as accesses between them. And for that need and necessary point, shops, restaurants, and most of the stalls are concentrated near the gates, to facilitate students to buy their needs. And the density is becoming less the more it getting farther than this point, the shops, restaurants, cafes, stalls also getting lesser, and for of course the human mobility in this point are the highest among other places in Tunghai Villa.
Different times make different mobility too. When it is daylight, the mobility of the street is close to zero. From about 7-8a.m students who live near the university, around the Tunghai villa, are making the current, stream from the
Tunghai Villa into the university gates. At this moment, the Tunghai Villa suddenly become crowded, and after the moment has passed, the Tunghai Villa back to its original condition, few people, less mobility. Until about 2-3 pm, the time where students have afternoon break for 2hours, the access become very dynamic again, students go there to eat their lunch, or go back to the place they live, or buying needs. After that, during the 3-6pm the mobility getting less than the previous current, but not as few as 7-8am, in this period, shopkeeper, stall owners, are getting more and more as they are preparing for the nighttime for night market. And finally, by the 6 pm, until 10-12pm, the mobility of the Tunghai villa reaches its peak point. The stream become so crowded, vehicles and other transportations also taking part in making the access becoming more traffic. That is what the mobility or flowing that present in Tunghai villa which I observed. And as far that I observed, the everyday mobility changes are resemble to each other, and makes the mobility changes of this place rather stable.
For me the changes in its density affect the space of the place so much. GBU
